Neighborhood Watch
Neighborhood Watch in Bonnie Brae is currently in need of a coordinator. To volunteer, please call Elaine Hawley whose phone number is in the BBCA Directory.
What is Neighborhood Watch?
- Crime prevention program sponsored by Fairfax County Police Department
If I sign-up for neighborhood watch, what will I do?
- Join 110 other families in Bonnie Brae who volunteer one evening a year.
- Enjoy a quiet, usually uninterrupted drive with your spouse or a friend through all the streets in Bonnie Brae and BB Elementary School.
- Report any suspicious activity to the local police - 911 for emergencies or 703-691-2131 for non-emergencies.
- Write a brief entry into the Log Book (usually "All Quiet").
- Pass on the NHW supply box with flashlights, cell phone, etc., to the next volunteer(s).
It's that simple - and appreciated by all of us in Bonnie Brae as well as earning the respect of the West Springfield District Police Department. Neighborhoods that have an active Neighborhood Watch Program statistically have many fewer incidents of crime and vandalism.
